Virtual Workshop Support (Remote)

WITH PEER CONNECTIONS MANITOBA

Summary

Peer Connections Manitoba is a family-sensitive peer support nonprofit mental health organization committed to enhancing the quality of life for those dealing with mental health issues via advocacy, education, and peer support. In Winnipeg and around the province, we provide a wide range of services. Many of our sessions are run by participants or family members who have firsthand knowledge of the issues at hand.

Role responsibilities:

1. Managing the Zoom waiting area and taking attendance

2. Continuing to offer participants technical assistance

3. Respond to inquiries from participants through Zoom chat.

4. Complete a certain role in a character to enhance the workshop experience.

5. Communicate with individuals who have disabled their camera using Zoom chat.

6. Adapt to the particular demands of the group and offer the facilitator any necessary assistance.

Looking for 2-3 individuals that are passionate about/interested in learning more about Manitoba's mental health field.

Required skills:

- Prior experience with schizophrenia, mental illness, and hearing voices.

- You must have your OWN laptop and be VERY acquainted with Zoom.

- Pay strict attention to detail. Multitask well and have excellent organizational skills.

- Flexible schedule, efficiency, punctuality, and ability to operate with little direction.

- Possess the capacity for teamwork and are teachable.

Time commitment:

The volunteer is only required for the first two hours of each workshop, which lasts a total of three hours. Each month, 3-5 workshops are held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mon through Fri. Interested in a minimum 6-month commitment.
